As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for key accounting deliverables in support of monthly and quarterly close processes. This position is responsible for recording entries, preparing schedules and reconciliations, monthly and quarterly variance analysis, and asset management. Key to this role is working cross-functionally to drive operational and financial performance. Responsibilities will include: - Collaborate and drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Record entries in compliance with corporate closing and scheduled SOX 404 policies.
- Prepare schedules to support journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate analysis and processing of general ledger and accompanying subledger transactions for monthly reporting.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes, including preparing schedules to support quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Manage fixed assets and work collaboratively with Operations to ensure timely and accurate capitalization.
- Review inventory accounting records to ensure accurate cost accounting and valuation, including preparation of quarter-end valuation adjustments.
- Analyze manufacturing variances and report on key cost drivers to provide insights into operational and financial performance improvement.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with department peers and leadership to propose and implement targeted process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of month-end reporting.
Job requirements and skills: - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA designation or active progression towards completion.
- At least five to seven years of related experience, including Public Accounting experience; Big Four Public Accounting experience a plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial controls; knowledge of cost accounting a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team and effectively communicate across cross-functional departments.
- Must be detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills; advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of advanced functions to extract, summarize, and present data; experience with ERP systems and working knowledge of MS Dynamics Business Central a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and be flexible in responding to changing business demands.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
