Position Summary: Support early childhood education students as they grow into confident, reflective professionals. Through observation, feedback, and goal setting, the instructor helps students connect theory to practice and strengthen their teaching skills. This role provides encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback to ensure students meet course objectives and program goals while developing their own unique teaching style. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Course Preparation and Instruction - Prepare assigned practicum courses using appropriate instructional materials and strategies that align with course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to the approved course syllabus and comply with institutional policies related to the Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
Observation and Evaluation - Evaluate student performance through practicum observations (in-person or via video) to assess progress toward learning outcomes.
- Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback to support student growth and goal setting.
Student Support and Communication - Maintain consistent communication with students and program faculty to ensure alignment of expectations and instructional support.
- Create a professional and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence, reflection, and skill development in early childhood education practices.
Institutional Participation and Accountability - Submit grades by due date
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process as required by the College.
- Attend all scheduled department, program, and faculty meetings.
- Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other responsibilities. Use such technologies in a manner consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

| Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Masters in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of the CDA certification process preferred.
- Experience coaching early childhood teachers preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI-generated content; maintain confidentiality where required; exercise professional and academic judgment; and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service.
