Needs may become available prior to or during each semester. The Transportation Technologies Department at Washtenaw Community College is dedicated to preparing students for dynamic careers in the automotive and transportation industries. Position Summary: · Part Time Transportation Technologies – Support Staff assists the Department Chair, Faculty and Classified Faculty for setup and teardown of lab assignments for student completion. ·Additionally, part time support must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to serve as a positive role model for WCC students, demonstrating ethical behavior, workplace professionalism, and industry best practices. · We are committed to providing high-quality education, student-centered learning, and career preparation in the field of automotive services. · Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support the effective performance of assigned duties, enhance productivity, improve communication and information management, support decision-making, and other responsibilities, while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: ·Assist with maintaining a safe and clean laboratory working environment. Report all non-working or unsafe equipment. Be familiar with OSHA and SDS requirements. ·Assist with laboratory activities as assigned by the department’s instructors—prepare/breakdown laboratories. ·Assist with promotional events, as directed. ·Regular attendance on campus is required for this position. ·Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Capable of lifting and transporting at least 50 pounds. |
| Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ·High School diploma or GED equivalent. ·Ability to communicate effectively, manage multiple tasks, work effectively with others, and provide support to students and staff. · Must be available to work days, nights and/or weekends. ·Ability to lift and transport at least 50 pounds. · Ability to use workplace technology relevant to the position, including the capacity to learn and appropriately leverage emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to assess the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment and ethical practices in the use of technology. |
