Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is seeking a part time Radiography Clinical Instructor to teach/assist in a classroom or clinical setting. Upon successful submission of your application, resume, and transcripts, you will be considered for teaching opportunities on a per course basis.
Position Summary:

The part-time Clinical Instructor takes on a leadership position in clinical education for the Radiography Program. Their responsibilities include providing students with clinical instructions and supervision, evaluating students’ clinical competency, and acting as a liaison for clinical sites.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain environment conductive to student learning.
  • Prepare for and instruct assigned course through the use of appropriate learning experience and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals.
  • Visit clinical sites for an assessment of the student’s clinical experience.
  • Provide staff radiographers at each clinical site with guidelines to evaluate the students’ clinical skills.
  • Monitor each student’s clinical progress to ensure successful completion of the appropriate number of clinical procedures and compliance with program clinical standards.
  • Assist the Clinical Coordinator in submitting final course grades in the designated time frame.
  • Actively support student success through counseling, advising, and assisting individual students as needed.
  • Work with the Radiography Program Director and Clinical Coordinator to revise and maintain the clinical requirements for the program.
  • Participate in the Radiography Department and Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Maintain program standards according to accrediting agency guidelines.
  • Maintain positive communication with affiliating health care agencies.
  • Utilize technology, including AI-enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other responsibilities. Use such technologies in a manner consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Hours/Schedule: Schedules vary according to clinical site schedules. Part time classified faculty may teach up to 20 hours per week. The terms of employment are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Earned Associate’s degree in Radiologic Sciences from an institution accredited by the Joint
  • Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCRERT).
  • Current registration and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography required.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a radiographer required.
  • Must be in compliance with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) continuing education.
  • Must have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Knowledge of PAC’s and RIS systems.
  • Ability and willingness to use technology for teaching and learning.
  • Possess strong leadership abilities, demonstrated skill in effective written communications, and ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI-generated content; maintain confidentiality where required; exercise professional and academic judgment; and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service.

Compensation Structure:
Classified Faculty – Clinical Instructors with two (2) to three (3) years related work experience will be paid the first rate.
Classified Faculty – Clinical Instructors with four (4) years and over related work experience will be paid the second rate.
