Position Title:	Part time Dental Clinical Instructor

Position Description:	Position Summary: To teach effectively in a classroom or clinical setting, through the development, instruction and evaluation of coursework, ensuring that overall course objective and program goals are achieved. To support student learning through evaluation of progress, counseling and assistance. Essential Duties include: Establish and maintain environment conductive to student learning. Prepare for and instruct assigned course through the use of appropriate learning experience and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals. Adhere to course syllabus and comply with Assessment of Student Academic Achievement. Evaluate student progress through day to day evaluation, written examinations and overall observation. Provide students with feedback on progress on a timely basis. Actively support student success through counseling, advising and assisting individual students as needed. Participate in professional activities including, but not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision and other professional planning activities. Participate in Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process. Clinical Instructors maintain positive communication with affiliating agencies. Attendance is required for all scheduled classes and labs. Other duties as assigned. Related Duties: Submission of grades and course handout on a timely basis. Accountable for preparation of each course taught. Notification of availability for student consultation. Maintain an active program of professional development related to both individual and institutional needs. Abide by WCC’s work practice and rules of conduct Hours/Schedule: Part time classified faculty may teach up to 20 hours per week. The terms of employment are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications:	Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Certificate in Dental Assisting from an accredited school with equivalent of five (5) years full-time successful work related experience in dental assisting or dental work OR Bachelor’s degree with equivalent of four (4) years full-time successful work related experience in dental assisting or dental work.
Preferred Qualifications:	Additional Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Demonstrated skill in effective written communications. Experience in curriculum development, assessment, evaluation and testing procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability and willingness to use technology for teaching and learning.
