| Position Description: | Position Summary: This position supports the Center for Interactive Teaching and Learning (CiTL) in advancing course quality, accessibility, and instructional design practices across the college. The role focuses on implementing quality assurance processes, supporting accessibility compliance efforts, and contributing to course design improvements in collaboration with faculty and CiTL staff. This multi-faceted position carries a second primary function as a course quality assurance advocate by performing course content reviews to ensure that all designed and developed courses launched by the department adhere to the internal design standards and provide the learner the best possible learning experience. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform quality assurance checks on courses
- Technical and instructional design support for faculty
- Serve as a student advocate by ensuring course design, quality, and accessibility decisions prioritize learner experience, clarity, and equitable access.
- Conduct course quality assurance reviews using established standards (e.g., Quality Matters)
- Perform accessibility reviews and remediation using institutional tools (e.g., UDOIT)
- Provide actionable feedback to faculty and instructional designers
- Assist with course design, development, and revisions in the LMS as needed
- Develop and maintain instructional resources, guides, and templates
- Support faculty training initiatives and workshops as assigned
- Collaborate with CiTL team members and campus partners on their work with FacultyHelp, Analytics, and Systems Account Management
- Maintain documentation of processes and contribute to continuous improvement
- Support faculty and CITL staff in the planning of design and development solutions
- Assist faculty and CITL staff in the implementation of solutions for design and development challenges, while sharing possible iterative design, development and technology solutions where appropriate
- Serve as a student advocate during the course review process by reviewing courses, conceptualizing revision suggestions and communicating those suggestions to faculty & CiTL staff
- Serve as a best-practices course advocate by reviewing existing content and structure for adherence to specified design standards and practices
- Assist in the testing, piloting, and support of pedagogical approaches and technological solutions to common and complex course challenges
- Draft storyboards, examples and prototypes to communicate course design, development and technology solutions to effectively guide stakeholders to best-practice approaches that most appropriately address course needs and challenges
- Participate in the iterative process of design and development work with faculty and staff
- Review courses for adherence to course accessibility principles to ensure equal student access to learning opportunities, and communicate the review findings to faculty and staff stakeholders
- Assist in implementing course asset requests into existing courses from the Video, Multimedia, Instructional Technologies and all other teams within CiTL
- Complete all other duties as assigned
Related Duties: - Gain and maintain familiarity with course design models and principles
- Support the research, proposal, and presentation of faculty and staff solutions to common and complex pedagogical challenges in online, hybrid, virtual and face-to-face learning scenarios
- Maintain awareness of current trends in learning design and pedagogical solutions, and constructively communicate current trends as solutions to WCC faculty and staff where appropriate
- Assist with the design of schedules and project pacing guides for faculty and staff design and development projects to ensure their timely achievement by all stakeholders
Hours/Schedule: - Regular, non-exempt, part-time status. The work schedule will be negotiated with the position’s supervisor based on department and customer needs. Hours may flex dependent on current work responsibilities.
Work Environment: - In-person presence required in a typical office setting on WCC’s campus.

| Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - A post-high-school education or above, with equivalent knowledge and experience to a bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

| Preferred Qualifications: | Additional Preferred Qualifications: - Successful previous experience in a similar role, or with relevant successful industry experience applying adult learning principles, instructional design theory and course development models
- Experience working in a higher education environment, especially via online modalities
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt new technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, educational technology, or related field
- Experience with Quality Matters or course review frameworks
- Experience with accessibility tools (UDOIT, Ally, etc.)
- Experience supporting faculty in higher education
- Basic multimedia or graphic design skills
