The Opportunity: Vice President Strategic Innovation, Growth and Partnerships
The Vice President Strategic Innovation, Growth and Partnerships plays a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth through human-centered design, creation and commercialization of new services, the expansion of partnerships and channels, funding streams, and market reach while protecting the nonprofit’s mission, regulatory obligations, and reputation. In addition, this role will design and scale innovative, compliant, and user-centered financial wellness solutions that improve client outcomes and organizational effectiveness.
Core Accountabilities include:
Innovation & New Business Models
- Drive strategic growth through deep market insights and innovative product solutions.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify emerging customer needs, analyze competitive landscapes, and translate market intelligence into actionable product strategies.
- Champion new business models, digital transformation, and product innovation.
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Identifying new business opportunities that align with the company’s long-term vision.
Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
- Lead business development efforts to identify and pursue new market opportunities.
- Drive strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that align with long-term organizational goals.
- Expand GreenPath’s reach into new customer segments and geographies.
- Build and manage high-value external relationships to foster innovation and collaboration.
- Negotiate and structure deals that support sustainable growth.
Marketing & Brand Leadership
- Brand stewardship and trust building through consistency of brand voice across platforms.
- Brand strategy, demand generation, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Market positioning and value proposition refinement and differentiation.
- Client-centered, ethical, accessible and inclusive marketing strategy development.
- Leverage data, KPIs and insights to inform go-to-market strategies as well as monitor client awareness, referral quality, brand sentiment and partner/client engagement.
- Internal brand leadership through servant leadership, advocacy, and alignment of internal communications with brand values and strategic priorities.
Leadership & Organizational Alignment
- Serve as an effective, trusted member of the executive leadership team by contributing enterprise-level thinking, constructively challenging ideas, and supporting collective decision-making.
- Manage the GreenPath Innovation Design advisory board to provide strategic guidance on growth, innovation, and stakeholder engagement, translating counsel into actionable initiatives.
- Coordinate all aspects of advisory board management, including member onboarding, meeting planning, facilitation, and board relationship management.
- Act as a strong peer leader who models accountability, collaboration, and integrity; balances advocacy for one’s function with stewardship of the whole organization; and builds credibility through judgment, transparency, and follow-through.
- Provide strategic direction and coaching to Director level team members.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure alignment of departmental goals with organizational strategy and mission.
- Support professional development and development planning for leadership roles within the growth and innovation functions.
- Prepare and present strategic updates, performance metrics, and market insights to GreenPath and GPID Board of Directors and senior leadership.

- Develop and maintain positive partner relationships.
- Develop sales action plans and call strategies to maintain ongoing business with current partners.
- Within partner base, build a culture of responsiveness and knowledge sharing.
- Ignite referral growth from national banking partners.
- Evaluate opportunities and successfully implement strategies to increase market share.

New Customer Solutions:

The Qualified Candidate
GreenPath seeks a client/partner-centric candidate with a minimum of 10 years of progressively leadership experience. Prior experience in the financial services, credit counseling or FinTech industry is desirable. The selected candidate will be collaborative by nature, results-oriented, and have great credibility with proven success in creating successful partnerships.
Specific requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a business, marketing, or related field; Master’s or MBA is preferred

This position is a hybrid (remote & in-office) role and offers a competitive total compensation package (salary and bonus) and benefits package. The role may be located anywhere in the United States; Michigan is preferred. Travel for this position is approximated at 15-25% of working time.
