Marquee Arts is the nonprofit organization that operates the historic Michigan and State Theaters in downtown Ann Arbor. With a mission to inspire, educate, entertain, and build community through the power of cinema and the performing arts, Marquee Arts presents a robust slate of first-run, international, documentary, classic, and independent films, along with live events, educational programming, and community engagement initiatives.
Marquee Arts is looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for cinema and customer service to join their Front of House Team as a Team Member.
Summary: The Team Member supports all aspects of live and film event execution and operations at the Michigan Theater and across Marquee Arts venues. Whether welcoming guests, scanning tickets, staffing concessions, or assisting with setup and breakdown, Team Members help ensure smooth operations and exceptional service from start to finish. This role is ideal for those who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working with the public, and care deeply about building community through the arts.

Work Environment: The work is primarily indoors within a theater building(s) and may have some exposure to fumes, odor, dust, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This role requires walking and standing for extended periods of time. This role also regularly requires reaching, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing stairs. Extended computer use is required (point of sale system). The employee will regularly lift, push, pull and/or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
Required Education and Experience: Prior experience in hospitality, retail, event support, or theater operations. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Strong sense of professionalism, dependability, and teamwork. Proficiency in basic computer applications. Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively and diplomatically with others. Strong decision-making skills, problem solving skills, technical skills, attention to detail and organization, and energetic and driven. Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with large crowds. Applicants must be able to pass training programs and obtain food handling and alcohol service permits, if applicable.
Preferred Education and Experience: Interest in live performance, cinema, and the arts is encouraged and preferred.
