The Gallery Internship is designed for students interested in visual arts administration, exhibition preparation, and gallery operations. Interns gain hands-on experience supporting Riverside Arts Center’s exhibitions while learning about the day-to-day work of a community arts organization. Our mission: Riverside Arts Center offers, promotes, and nurtures dynamic arts and cultural programs through arts education, performing arts, visual and fine arts activities that serve and engage the community in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, and the surrounding area. Internship Responsibilities:- Assisting with exhibition installation and de-installation.- Serving as a gallery attendant during exhibitions and public events.- Helping prepare galleries for new exhibitions.- Assisting with artwork handling and organization.- Coordinating an open call for artwork for Riverside Arts Center’s digital gallery, featuring members of the Ypsi Fine Arts Club.- Providing general support for gallery programs and special events as needed. Requirements:- Students eligible for the internship must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in a field of study relevant to museum, gallery, or arts administration, or participating in a post-graduate program.- Interns are expected to complete a minimum of 80–100 hours during a single semester.- Must have reliable transportation. Timeline:- Applications Due: August 1, 2026- Fall 2026 Start and End Dates: August 25 – December 13- Start and end dates are flexible and do not have to align with the school calendar.- Internship projects must be completed by December 15, 2026.
