The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced software engineer who’s ready to take the next step in their career, not just to write great code, but to help architect the future of a high-impact data platform. We’re looking for someone who:
- Is excited to get their hands dirty solving real product and platform challenges
- Has the maturity and experience to take ownership of backend architecture and operations
- Sees the opportunity to grow into a technical leadership/CTO role as the company scales
What You’ll Do
- Own and improve the current infrastructure. Enhancing scalability, reliability, and performance
- Identify technical debt, triage issues, and deliver break/fix improvements with limited oversight
- Translate business and customer needs into technical requirements and implementation plans
- Work with external contract developers on new feature modules, overseeing integration and quality
- Collaborate with product, customer success, and leadership teams to ensure roadmap feasibility
- Help define technical hiring needs and infrastructure strategy as we scale
- Act as a mentor and future technical leader as the engineering team grows
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of software development experience, ideally across both product and infrastructure
- Strong backend experience with object-oriented languages (e.g., PHP/Laravel, Python, Java, or C#)
- Comfort working with AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3) and Linux environments
- Solid working knowledge of Python and the ability to scale usage as platform needs expand.
- Experience with MySQL, Docker, and general DevOps principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and business-oriented judgment
- Experience in small company or startup environments strongly preferred
- Eagerness to step into a long-term strategic and hands-on leadership role
