About Ready Signal Ready Signal is a high-growth SaaS company powering the next generation of external data for AI and predictive modeling. Our platform automates the discovery, normalization, and delivery of high-value external signals, including economic, weather, and demographic data into business intelligence and forecasting pipelines.
We are seeking a mid-level Software Developer (3–6 year’s experience) to lead the continued evolution of our platform. You’ll take ownership of our core application, identify and implement improvements, and ensure infrastructure stability and scalability. This is a hands-on role with a mix of development, integration, and infrastructure awareness. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders and manage outsourced engineering resources for module-level enhancements.
This role is hybrid with an expectation of 3 days per week in our Ann Arbor, MI office.
Responsibilities
Application Ownership & Development
- Gain deep knowledge of the current application infrastructure and take ownership of break-fix responsibilities
- Implement improvements to core architecture with a focus on performance and scalability
- Maintain and improve application codebase, primarily in Laravel/PHP
Feature Integration
- Integrate and deploy new application modules developed by part-time outsourced developers
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code with attention to business use cases
- Conduct code reviews and collaborate with QA to ensure functionality and reliability
Infrastructure & Operations
- Support AWS-hosted infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, RDS)
- Contribute to DevOps process improvements and deployment automation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and customer-facing teams to deliver roadmap priorities
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in software development
- Proficient in Laravel/PHP or strong background in an object-oriented language (Java, C#, C++) with ability to quickly ramp on PHP
- Solid working knowledge of Python and the ability to scale usage as platform needs expand.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, especially EC2 and Lambda
- Solid understanding of Linux environments and basic DevOps principles
- Able to manage both legacy code and scalable new feature development
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance code quality with business priorities
- Self-starter comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Python or R
- Experience managing or collaborating with outsourced developers
- Exposure to data-heavy applications, APIs, or analytics platforms

Location Requirement This role is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Employees are expected to be in-office at least 3 days per week to foster team collaboration and velocity.
