The team lead, under the supervision of the area manager, will provide scheduling and operational coordination for the analytical lab team as well as performing testing, peer review, reporting, and training as appropriate to their technical level. They will monitor work progress and provide feedback to laboratory management on issues impacting lab turn around time or timeliness.

- Appropriate technical background and training for the candidates scientist level role.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of laboratory experience plus demonstrated technical and training skills.
- Knowledge of standard lab procedures and instrumentation.
- Able to work well in a production team environment with strong organizational skills.
- Consistent attention to detail and verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and SOP's for the analytical area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of operational metrics to drive lab process improvement.
- Working background as a scientist I or II in the analytical area.
- Schedule or oversee scheduling for the laboratory area.
- Manage laboratory testing by assigning resources and monitoring timelines and metrics.
- Perform testing, peer review, and reporting for test methods for laboratory area as appropriate to their technical level.
- Recommend process improvement initiatives based on observation and data collection.
- Help team meet safety, quality, timeliness, productivity, and cost control objectives.
- Fulfill work requirements of their assigned technical level, including providing technical support and training as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as requested.
