We are seeking a Battery Engineering Intern to support the 6T battery pack engineering team during the design, build, and testing phases of lithium-ion battery development. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of battery pack assembly and validation in support of government and defense applications.
The intern will work closely with engineers and technicians to assist with battery pack builds, testing activities, and engineering investigations. This position provides a dynamic opportunity to gain practical experience with lithium-ion battery systems, product development, and manufacturing processes.
Support the battery engineering team during design, build, and testing activities for lithium-ion battery packs.
Assist with inspection of mechanical components and parts prior to assembly.
Help develop and execute battery build plans and assembly procedures.
Participate in battery pack assembly and prototype builds.
Provide engineering test support, including data collection and documentation.
Assist with troubleshooting and problem investigations related to battery performance, assembly, or test results.
Document build processes, test results, and engineering observations.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support the validation and continuous improvement of battery products.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or a related engineering discipline.
Experience using basic shop or mechanical tools.
Experience with 3D modeling and CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a hands-on engineering and laboratory environment.
Due to the nature of projects supporting government and defense programs, U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder status is required.
Hands-on experience with lithium-ion battery pack development and validation.
Exposure to engineering design, manufacturing, and testing processes.
Mentorship from experienced battery engineers and technical staff.
Insight into battery technologies used in government and defense applications.
