We are seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support manufacturing documentation and process improvement initiatives related to lithium-ion battery production. This internship provides hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of Li-ion battery manufacturing while contributing to critical documentation and standardization efforts.
The intern will work closely with the Process Engineering team to develop and refine manufacturing documentation, including Sonobuoy Work Instructions and Manufacturing Documents. The position is designed to provide meaningful industry experience and may lead to opportunities for returning internships in future summers or potential direct hire opportunities post graduation.
Observe and learn daily manufacturing operations within the Li-ion battery production environment
Work with engineers and manufacturing staff to document process steps, tooling, and operational standards
Support process engineering initiatives that improve manufacturing consistency, efficiency, and documentation quality
Organize and maintain controlled documentation for manufacturing processes
Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and standardization
Communicate progress and collaborate with the engineering team throughout the project
Currently pursuing a STEM or Engineering degree (e.g., Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field)
Open to students of any academic year
Interest in manufacturing, process engineering, or energy storage technologies
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with engineering teams
Basic technical writing or engineering documentation experience is a plus
ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the employee must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
