MMI Engineered Solutions is currently seeking a hands-on, results-driven Shift Supervisor to join our Production team. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating production employees, overseeing injection molding operations, and ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are consistently met. The Shift Supervisor will work closely with Mold Setters, Material Handlers, Quality, and Management to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing operations.
This position is highly hands-on and floor-focused, requiring direct involvement in production, mold changes, job startups, troubleshooting, and employee supervision. This is not a desk-only supervisory role.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Floor Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production employees including operators, assemblers, inspectors, and material handlers
- Ensure all safety, quality, and production standards are consistently followed
- Plan and assign work, monitor production schedules, and adjust staffing to meet production goals and earned hours
- Oversee job setups, mold changes, startups, and shutdowns to ensure jobs run efficiently and meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot equipment, process, and quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed
- Monitor production rates, scrap, and efficiency; communicate issues impacting cost, quality, or delivery
- Ensure work cells are properly set up, organized, and compliant with safety and quality requirements
- Coordinate with Mold Setters, Material Handlers, Quality, and Management to ensure smooth production operations
- Stop production for safety or quality concerns
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily production reporting, attendance records, and shift handoff communication
- Train, coach, and evaluate employees; support employee development and performance management
- Verify employees are properly trained and following standard work and safety procedures
- Review previous shift issues including quality alerts, scrap, and production concerns
- Communicate with other supervisors and management regarding production, staffing, and operational issues
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, and equipment
- Experience with mold setup, process startup, and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated leadership ability including training, coaching, and performance management
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production schedules
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Basic math and computer skills required (Microsoft Office; IQMS experience a plus)
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed to meet production demands
Work Environment & Expectations:

Manufacturing-floor–focused role with significant hands-on involvement

Standing, reaching, bending, lifting items (up to 50lbs), stepping in and out of certain equipment.

Standing and walking for extended periods in areas that may be hot, noisy, and dusty.

Shift Schedule
Monday through Wednesday 12:00am-6:15am and alternating Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday 6:00pm-6:15am.
