Job Description:
Heat2Power is pioneering the world’s most efficient solid-state heat engine: the Air-Bridge Thermal Photovoltaic Cell (TPV). Our breakthrough technology converts high-temperature radiation into electricity at efficiencies exceeding 45%, unlocking new opportunities in clean energy and thermal energy storage. We are seeking a motivated and talented TPV Process Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will help fabricate and scale the next generation of Air-Bridge TPVs to meet increasing customer demand.
The TPV Process Technician will:
● Work primarily in the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility (cleanroom) located at the University of Michigan.
● Collaborate closely with a small, interdisciplinary team on the design, fabrication, and characterization of TPV devices.
● Drive process improvements and innovations that will enable scalable, high-yield manufacturing.

Requirements:
● B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Sciences, or equivalent degree
● Thorough understanding of semiconductor and solid-state physics
● Possess extraordinary problem-solving abilities and a demonstrated track record of troubleshooting challenging engineering and scientific projects
● Are adept in statistical data analysis and are capable of clear reporting
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
● Experience handling delicate research samples/devices (e.g., LEDs, PVs, ICs)
● Flexibility to accept new tasks and go beyond one's comfort zone to pursue the solution to new and unexpected problems
● Dynamic person with a positive attitude and a dream to work with a great team and product
Preferred Skills:
● Experience working in a cleanroom environment, handling 4" wafers, small pieces, and comfortable utilizing tweezers
● Experience with nanofabrication processes and processing tools including lithography, physical vapor deposition, chemical etching, metrology, dicing, etc.
● Experience using materials characterization equipment including SEM/TEM, FTIR, XRD, contact/optical profilometry, ellipsometry
