Job description
The position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of school facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Duties and Responsibilities: -Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting. -Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, replenishing supplies and sanitizing surfaces. -Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials. -Ensure classrooms, offices, and communal areas are tidy and presentable. -Conduct routine checks on cleaning equipment and report maintenance needs. -Assist with setting up and cleaning after school events as needed. -Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies or requests from school staff. -Follow all health and safety regulations related to cleaning processes. Background & Skills: -High school diploma or equivalent. -On-the-job training in cleaning procedures and equipment use. -Previous experience in a janitorial or cleaning role preferred. Qualifications: -Basic language skills for communication with staff. -Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for inventory management. -Familiarity with cleaning equipment and products. -Strong attention to detail. -Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physical Demands: -Ability to lift and move heavy items. -Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for long periods.
